Welcome to Eureka, Nevada
Priding itself as being “The Friendliest Town on the Loneliest Road,” is the modest, yet charming town of Eureka. The area is perceived by many as one the American West’s best-preserved mining communities. The town was settled in 1864 by silver prospectors who discovered rock containing a silver-lead ore on nearby Prospect Peak. Eureka began to preserve its history with the restoration of the Eureka Opera House and then the County Courhouse. These two projects and the expansion of the Eureka Sentinel Museum have helped to make Eureka what it is today. If you’re looking for a great old west mining town rich in history, and some very special events,
you’ve found it!
